Associate Scientist, Analytical Development, at Unum Therapeutics

This is an outstanding opportunity to be a core scientist and scientific leader in a well-funded, early stage biotechnology company on the cutting edge of novel cancer treatments.

What are we seeking?

 

An independent, flexible, high-energy candidate with expertise in flow cytometry (surface, intracellular and phosphoflow staining) and human primary cells, including isolation of human immune cells and establishment of primary cell cultures with aseptic techniques and mononuclear cell isolation. You should have a demonstrated abilities with analytical software such as FACS Diva, FlowJo and Graph Pad Prism.

  • BS. or M.S. in Biology, biochemistry or related discipline with minimum 35 years of relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • 2-3+ years experience of flow cytometry required

  • Research experience on immunology and T cells is a plus

  • Experience in cell sorting and in performing cell–based assays preferred

  • Must be self-motivated, with excellent organization skills.

  • Able to work independently or in a team, in a fast-paced research environment

  • Excellent attention to detail, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data while exercising good judgment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

What will you be doing?

You will report to Director of Process and Analytical Development and be an integral part of the Development Team, and will be responsible for performing various analytical assays. You will execute complex multi-colors staining, acquisition and data analysis and be responsible for organizing data, maintaining records and communicating results.

  • multi-color flow cytometry. Responsible for sample preparation, acquisition and data analysis

  • Support the development/execution of in vitro and ex vivo cell based assays

  • You will be responsible for maintaining detailed records of all experiments

  • Work with operations to monitor and order lab supplies as needed and to maintain laboratory in functional order

  • You will be a valuable contributor to the team and to other initiatives as they arise in our fast paced, startup environment
