Senior/Principal Scientist, Analytical Development, at Unum Therapeutics

This is an outstanding opportunity to be a core scientist and scientific leader in a well-funded, early stage biotechnology company on the cutting edge of novel cancer treatments.

What are we seeking?

 

An innovative, flexible, high energy scientist with a strong background in analysis of human immune cells (e.g., T, B, NK cells) and at least 4+ years experience in analytical method development in a pharmaceutical or biotech company.

  • A Ph.D. degree in life science related disciplines with at least 8 years relevant experience is desired

  • Must have 5+ years of demonstrated, hands-on experience with assay development (including flow cytometry) for human immune cells

  • Experience with cellular based assay to characterize human immune cells and knowledge of developing analytical methods for cellular therapy products is a plus

  • Ability to develop and implement methods for high throughput or (semi-) automated data analysis and familiarity with programming highly desirable

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, as required

  • A proven track record of handling multiple projects in a fast paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to work with and support colleagues in other departments

  • Demonstrated competencies in innovative/creative problem solving

  • Willingness to learn new concepts and challenge boundaries

  • Organization and attention to detail is required

 

What will you be doing?

 

You will focus on developing state-of-the-art methods to characterize human immune cells (including composition, phenotypes, functions) as well as the protein molecules secreted by the immune cells.

  • You will report to the Director of Process and Analytical Development and be a valuable leader in our fast paced, start-up environment

  • You will develop state-of-the-art analytical methods to characterize human immune cells

  • You will be responsible for providing analytical development support to Process Development, Production, and CMC for platform investigations and regulatory submissions

  • You will have oversight and responsibility for qualifying methods to be for fit for use

  • You will work to transfer robust analytical methods and to train appropriate personnel in their use (both internally and externally)

  • You will become involved in and contribute to other relevant projects and endeavours as they arise
